As I write this, I am actually working at 10:00pm solely by the light of my Christmas tree, it is that bright, and we love it. We also got blinking white lights, and with only every eighth or so light blinking at different speeds, it really looks magical.
This year, we did our Christmas photos at Helms Christmas Tree Farm outside of Lincolnton, North Carolina. They had a huge hill of Cyprus and Pine trees to be cut down, as well as a selection of precut Fraser Firs. We picked out a nearly eight foot Fraser Fir that traveled more than 400 miles on the roof of my car before we finally made it home, and it did not budge.
I love to decorate Christmas Trees. It’s one of my favorite aspects of Christmas. In Raleigh my living room was pink and green, and so was my tree of course! At that time I worked for a little stationery store that sold Christopher Radko ornaments, and I was introduced to Christmas tree heaven.
This year’s tree has seven Christopher Radko ornaments, as well as a Ye Old Christmas ornament in the shape of a Cavalier King Charles that looks just like my Lilly. I’m also using the plastic ornaments I got from the home improvement store last year for Christmas photos we did before Thanksgiving, but they look so nice I decided to keep them. And this year we purchased an angel dressed in red to go atop our tree.
But my favorite part of our tree this year would be the lights. They twinkle beautifully! I can’t wait for more presents to be added underneath!
